On the Witch of November Tour 2018 I was heading north and home from Bill & Brenda Sutton's in Indiana, and when I stepped outside frost had covered everything in sparkle. Every blade of grass, every leaf, every branch. A perfect delicate frosting.

The cover is a photo from that day. I couldn't take pictures as I drove but for miles and miles beside the road every tree shone white. There was a crystalline silence to the air, like expectation, like afterglow. It was one of the most magical natural moments of my life.

For FAWM 2019 a few months later I went back into that memory and Touch of Frost was born. I imagined her walking about so lightly while everyone was asleep, breathing out her icy breath as a winter blessing, leaving only that behind to show she was ever there.
