A mermaid falls in love with a man and allows herself to become human in the hopes of gaining his affection. After sacrificing her form, her voice, and living in agony, she is given the choice to kill him when she fails, and to return to her life in the sea.

Story’s country of origin – Denmark

Based on the tale “The Littlest Mermaid,” by Hans Christian Andersen.
