about

I grew up immersed in TNG and dabbling in the rest of Trek. When I finally started watching TOS as a series I felt it necessary to declare my bias. I may love it all, but TNG is mine forever.

lyrics

I gotta admit I was concerned
About my Next Gen cred
I didn’t wanna get burned
But I’ve been wonderin’ ‘bout the rest
While I swear up and down
That Next Gen is the best

Oh, I began with Captain Kirk
You know, he’s really not that bad
Though he can be a jerk
I met McCoy and Mr Spock
And now that they’re settling in
I gotta take stock

There are a coupl’a things
That I’m tryin’ to keep straight
But what you gotta know
Right outta the gate is

I’m a Next Gen girl
And I know my place
Is on the bridge of the Enterprise D
I need an android and a Betazoid
And a smattering of humanoids
Uh huh, to satisfy me
So when a Vulcan uses contractions
And there are multiple uniform infractions
I gotta remind myself that I’m a Next Gen girl
An alien in an Original world

I found a few familiar things
Like the computer has the same voice
With a little less zing
And all those pretty girls you see
They’re called yeomen, that’s right
And they get the coffee

The Doctor drinks when he’s “off-duty”
You can probably find him
In the arms of some beauty
But the Captain he loves his ship
And like the bald one I know
He doesn’t take any lip

But Sarak is a Romulan
Lwaxana is a nurse
And Spock’s the only constant
In this crazy universe

There are a coupl’a things
That I’m gonna get straight
But what you gotta know
Right outta the gate is

I’m a Next Gen girl
And I know my place
Is on the bridge of the Enterprise D
I need an android and a Betazoid
And a smattering of humanoids
Uh huh, to satisfy me
So when a Vulcan uses contractions
And there are multiple uniform infractions
I gotta remind myself that I’m a Next Gen girl
An alien in an Original world

Oh I know my place
Is on the bridge of the Enterprise D
I need an android and a Betazoid
And a smattering of humanoids
Uh huh, to satisfy me
So when a Vulcan uses contractions
And there are multiple uniform infractions
I gotta remind myself that I’m a Next Gen girl
An alien in an Original world

An alien in an Original world
I gotta remind myself that I’m a Next Gen girl
